Life, Love and the Japanese!

Let me begin by saying "Hello" and WHEW!"

So many crazy things have happened since my last post and frankly my dears I barely survived it all.
After the wide eyed wonderment and optimism of my last post , Metaphorical Shit hit the Metaphorical fan!
I had a huge falling out with my boyfriend which ended what I had thought to be our loving, trusting relationship, turns out I was sorely mistaken.... Lets just say literally Nothing was what it seemed :/ Of course being the man of a million chances that I am we have reunited, broken up and reunited again. Emotional wiplash for you all too eh? And of course these life crumbling events all take place mere days before I'm to leave for my first out of country trip to the beautiful Japan.
I made sure that by the time that I left New York my relationship with... we'll call him.... Michael, was in a good place. I was determined not to spend my time dwelling on some dude back in America when I should be livin it up in Tokyo!
I documented daily my trip, as much as i could...i was pretty busy thinking "I wonder what all these signs say...?"

I'll be posting a day of my adventures in Japan every day this week, so if you would like to know what happens next, tune in!

August 9th
Day 1, travel day!

In the air. We've been flying for about 5 hours now....the guy next to me is kinda smelly I'm not gonna lie.
9 hours left.....9 hours of mediocre Jennifer lopez romantic comedies and straight to DVD horror flicks...oh, that and Asians, but they I actually like :)

Despite the unfortunate aftertaste left in my cinematic mouth by these poorly thought out and clearly made in a minute movies, they do leave me missing a certain boyfriend I left back in the states. Though...I may still be in the states....not sure...let's say I'm flying Over the rolling hills of...uh...Sweden...yes, sweden and I can just make out a milkmade fighting with a sheperdess over...the....proper handleing techniques of young goatlets.
Realisticly Im probably flying over Cleveland where a bunch of construction workers are taking there post work dump in a beautifuly lined row of "Johnny on the spot"s
I'll let you know how hours 6-14 go :)

It's now 10:38pm, it has yet to get dark, wich frankly I find annoying. I think dinner was some detestable roll full of green bean mush.
I am currently on my fifth "film" of the evening "how to train your dragon" . Out of everything I've watched on this bird this is by far the best one.
I've got to pee with a fury & unfortunately have a window seat wich means in order to release the burden of my bladder I would need to climb over a sleeping Japanese couple. Not an option. Orrrr....no no definitely not.
Still missing Michael James.

Turns out it was an option & I am quite the stealthy couple jumper. Climbed right over Mr & Ms sleeper and succesfuly releived myself :)

It's 1:37am for me, 1:37pm in japan.

No wait...a Stewardess just announced on the overhead that it's 25 minutes to 3....and that we would land in an hour....well sounds good to me!
However I was engrossed in the thriller "cellular", we were towards the end and now I'm missing it for the "landing procedures" video...not cool japan NOT cool!
I'm determined to Muscle through this first day without sleep and therefore eliminate this demon "jet lag" that I hear attacks international travelers.
Now I'm missing my boyfriend and Brother....see them both in a week!

5:30 pm
Landed, filled out customs papers, got picked up and now headed to Tokyo! everything here from the toilets to the ice cream vending machines look so awesome!

Thats all for Day 1 Folks!

I'll post how the end of day 1 wrapped up and what happened Day 2 Tomorrow :)

See ya lata bye!

A heap of life.

Well the prodigal son has returned,

Yes it's true. Today I remembered I had a young and blossoming blog floating around alone in the Ethernet, clearly I felt bad for not being a better parent. So here I am to fill you all in on ALL the goods.

Since my last post I have

1) Moved to New York City
2) Booked a dance job that will wisk me off to japan
3) Made a mini line of accessories for a short film in Italy.
4) Been design scouted by a represntative of Patricia Fields
5)Asked to collaberate with a designer using my illustrations for her clothing
6) all that extra drama that fills the negative space between the big pictures (we'll get into that soon enough)

So needless to say I have been Met with great success in my whimsical endeavours. Praise God to whom I give the glory :)

Amidst all the glamour and celebrity that is my day to day life (I'm currently laying on a bench at a laundromat in Spanish Harlem) I try and remember that God has blessed me with many gifts and abilities and it is my responsibility and joy to nurture them.

More later, now off to buy toilet paper :)

See ya later bye!

Update!

Hey You,

Juilliard audition went well, however I was not asked to stay for an interview. I made it to the final seven but feel my age took me out of the running. I'm ok with this and feel like it helped me make some decisions :)

I recorded a little demo of  a song today, it was fun to  make and hopefully I'll post it soon.

That little sketch up there is an oldy but favorite, "Pipe Dreams".

R.I.P. Alexander Mcqueen, we've lost a legend :(

The pride of a job well done.

Well Hello There,

I thought i would share a picture of myself so I'm not the Phantom of the blogpra... I'm only sometimes good at jokes...damn...

I Have finally finished my Juilliard audition solo! It did only take 5 days, but, it felt like a very long process. Its getting good responses from the few people i have previewed it to :) Now I just have to work to make sure I don't die before its over because its nothing short of a marathon! I'll be videoing and posting it before too long.

The audition is Tuesday in Dallas and the next Friday I head back to New York for Mischief Aplenty!

Lastly heres a little Lewis Carroll inspired poem about mathematics I wrote. Enjoy :)

Mathematters

To type the four before the three does not add up mathematically, though to type the three after the two is what we've always known to do,

but were the four after the two and the three to follow suit, do the values stay the same or change although minute?
And take the ten in thought my friend, he's twice the times of five but without the 6 then add the four he wouldn't stay alive.

Though take the three and add it to the sum of three plus four and then we find ourselves staring at the ten once more.

So many ways and paths to take to any number you could reach and though I've tried I'm not qualified another math to teach.

Model citizen.

Hi All or None,

Thought I would share another photo from my portrait series today. this one is of male model Mario Loncarski, photographed by the amazing Sam Scott Schaivo. I am a  fan of Mr Schaivo's work and loved this photo so I illustrated it and sent it to him. He was kind enough to feature it on his blog "Life as Sam" samscottschiavo.blogspot.com. I found the picture on another fantatsic blog  thefashionisto.com/blog.  Enjoy!

a Pilgrims Progress.

Consider me a Pilgrim! because I have finally made some progress in this bedamned Juilliard solo :) I'm using the song The Drunk Machine by Thom Yorke and the premise is, ready for this? its kind of heavy for a 2 minute audition solo...but the premise is this-

I am human in his earliest garden of Edenic innocence, untouched by industry, economy and technology, I am at perfect peace with God and the planet I inhabit alone. So i thought...I begin to witness industry and its effect on my utopia, economy and its blatant devaluation of human life and technology replace the human spirit. I am offended but curious, I try and stay away but am drawn to this "Machine" and flirt with the thought of touching it, knowing it and befriending it. By the end of this piece I have lost the look of innocence that once occupied my face and the free flowing movements that guided me through my perfect existence have been replaced by gadget like twitches and jerks and a robotic droid of my former self is all that is left. The End.

Hopefully if the piece progresses nicely I'll turn it into a full work with several movements and a multitude dancers. If not, ill just scrap it and work on something new :)

I recently rediscovered a sketch I did a year or two ago that semi encompasses this train of thought and movement. There she is up there.

until next time, this has been

Post the First.

Hi there,

So here I go diving into the world of  "The Blog" the blogosphere I've heard it called. This Blog is my way of documenting and sharing simultaneously the twists and turns I will undoubtedly twist and turn through in the following few years. I'll crank out the occasional Fashion Photo, Personal Style Shot,Fashion illustrations/Other art works and videos of new Choreographic works I take on.

My latest project, other than getting my Etsy account up and working (CliShay.Etsy.com) is to choreograph a solo of at least two minutes for myself for an upcoming audition for the Juilliard College Program. The Audition is in Dallas on February 6th... really shouldve started by now BUT I say, but, my creative juices seem to come to a real rolling boil under pressure, so I'm holding off a for few more days. Juilliard eh? Kind of a tall order I know, but I tend to audition for things without putting any stock into the outcome so I can at least chalk things up to a good experience/not get my delicate man heart broken into smithereens. I hope eventually when one of you reads this we can take some of these nerve racking experiences on together.

Until Next time- Ciao!
